Currently rebuilding a 25' guardian and it has the aluminum center console and leaning post.
has anybody ever installed speakers in either one?

my concern is that it will sound different by getting an echo effect possibly from an aluminum enclosure vs a standard fiberglass console.

I don't think so if you use some good closed cell gasket where mounted against the aluminum. If you don't want to blast anybody off the water you should be fine. You can always dial in a little bore base if needed. It's CC not a "Hi-Fi" room.

With all the excellent and even waterproof Bluetooth speakers on the market I would consider buying one and placing it or somehow strapping it to your proposed installation area to check for echo's. Who knows you might scrap the installation all together and use the portable Bluetooth speaker and a cell phone with music streaming the way a lot of my buddies do on their small boats.
