Tonight, I applied my boat name and logo graphics to the port side of my boat (2015 150 Super Sport). I had some rough ideas, which my artist, Don Borger at Design Associates in Avon, Ohio, took and ran with, coming up with something new, something my own. Then the files were sent to Magic Brush, where Janis took the files and made them into vinyl. What a team, separated by 1000 miles, but working in perfect harmony, completely unknown to one another. It's a wonderful world we inhabit ...

Any connection to "Atlas Shrugged"?

Who is John Galt?

John Galt? Never heard of him.

I read the book when I was fourteen in an almost continuous sitting. When my Dad found me reading when he got up for work he made me put it down. At fourteen I couldn't fully appreciate the writer's message, but I was so impressed I carry the story in my mind some 62 years later.

I did read the book again when I was in my thirties.

It looks to me like you put the name/logo on the starboard side of your Whaler. What does the name/logo represent anyway?

Hey Rich, that was pretty observant! Both sides got the name/logo. Posted one evening, took photo next day ...

There's a book by Ayn Rand (Ayn rhymes with "mine") called Atlas Shrugged. The logo is Atlas, holding up the world. Here's a quote from the book:

If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater his effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders - What would you tell him?"

I…don't know. What…could he do? What would you tell him?"

To shrug.
