Hello! We are looking for a way to modify the deck/cover for the gas tanks that is behind the bench in our 1988 SSL 17'. If we ever run out of gas, I have to carefully tiptoe along the rail to lift the cover and switch the gas tanks. If anyone has figured out a better way to manage this, we would love to know!

Also- in the identify my boat pictures, you show this model with a tow-ring for ski lines- do you know a place that sells those?

Finally, we need a good ladder that is moderately easy to use- we have a heck of a time getting back into the boat after a swim!

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!!

I'm not familiar with your model/year so I can't comment on tip-toeing next to the rail for your tanks.
Use a standard BW transom ladder and if you're a little older you could mount a grab handle inside the boat. (see members personal page for a picture of my ladder down and up under size 15)
Reach out to the fellows with the same model as shown on that members page also.

Sounds like your model has a back deck already ? Get a fuel tank ( custom built if needed ) that fits under your seat. Sounds like you need a bigger fuel tank or relocate tanks. I built my own rear deck on a 15' whaler, I built doors into the deck as to not have your issue. My fuel tank is under my seat ( 18 gal ) . Martin Marine makes a excellent swim platform for your boat ( sponsor on this site )

A large enough deckplate, round or rectangular, to do the job might work if the covers flat enough to allow installation in the right area...

I have the same boat with a 25 gal plastic tank under the deck.
Can run at least 2 full days with 90 Yamaha 4 stroke.
What size tank is in your boat?

If you want to see a photo, there is one in the Reference section, under Models & Specs:

I would add 2 tank selector switch near the helm and re-run fuel lines.

You should add primer bulbs before the selector valve
