For the second year in a row my 1961 Nauset was accepted into Keels and Wheels Concours d' Elegance, in Seabrook Texas. This year's Grand Marshall was Dennis Gage, host of Velocity Channel's, My Classic Car.

My Nauset was positioned in the middle of some beautiful Chris Crafts and other fine wooden boats. Dennis walked out the pier with his camera crew in tow. When he came to my little blue Whaler he asked if he could get a picture of him in it. So he hopped behind the wheel and while the camera crew took his picture, I took one as well. I have placed a picture of him in my Personal Page for your viewing pleasure.

BTW at the banquet Saturday night they introduced Dennis as the guest speaker and gave a brief bio on him. He played in a Rock and Roll band in Chicago and then went on to earn a PHD in Chemistry. He went to work for Proctor and Gamble where he was on the team that invented Pringles Potato Chips! In fact the little guy on the can with the moustache is a stylized character of Dennis. His show 'My Classic Car' has been running for 20 consecutive years, which ties him with Gunsmoke, as one of the longest running TV shows in history.

He is going to do a show featuring the cars and boats from Keels and Wheels. I'll post a notice when is going to appear. Hopefully my Whaler makes the cut.

Spuds,

Take a look at your personal page and edit it.
You uploaded one photo that is way too huge in size, 1280x960.

All photos needs to be 640x480 maximum size.

Thanks, Joe.

I missed sizing a couple of photos. All pics should now be in compliance.

Dennis:

Congratulations on your 1961 Boston Whaler 16.7 Nauset (stencil #3470) winning the Silver Award at the 2018 Keels and Wheels Concourse d' Elegance at Lakewood Yacht Club, Seabrook, TX. Yes, it is impressive that your "plastic" boat competed with wooden boats in the Classic 16' and larger, outboard powered category.

Great looking boat. Did you use coasters underneath the bottle and can sitting in front of the windshield in one of the photos? Just a bit of a good natured tease. That center console is one of my favorites. Congrats.
