I'm looking for some advice on how to go about filling a rather large hole in my thru my splash well. The hole is about 1 3/4 x 4" deep. The previous owner ran the drain tube for the bilge through it rather than just running it over the back. Since it's mostly foam and not structural I was considering using some spray insulation can foam from Home Depot but I'm not sure if I will be able to get polyester resin or gelcoat to stick to it. Or should I fill with a large dowel?

There's also another hole in the transom, you can see there was an 1 1/2" piece of PVC there (possibly for some sort of drain) that I removed. I'm not sure if I can use a dowel for this or just fill with some Evercoat 27 and fiberglass....any suggestions?

Thanks!
