I have an 1986 13ft standard Whaler. The boat is on a trailer now and I am looking for any tips or techniques for paint the entire bottom. NOTE: I am working alone. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a copy of the Boston Whaler instructions, dated 5/14/1972, entitled: how to paint a waterline on a 13' and 17' boat. There are six steps:
1) Mark points on the hull (per sketch): that is 42 inches from centerline gunwale to intended waterline on center chine; That is 44 inches from gunwale to intended waterline on two outer chines; And 61 inches from gunwale to intended waterline equidistance between centerline chine and two outer chines. Then measure and mark 85 inches from transom outer chine forwared to intended waterline at most outer chine. The waterline crosses transom from chine to chine. (Note: the measurements are 33 inches, 45 inches, 57 inches and 96 inches, respectively, for the 17 hull).
2) Level hull, side to side.
3) Adjust hull so that points are equidistance from floor.
4) Cut a stick to the length from marked points to floor (it will be the same length stick all around the hull.)
5) Holiding the stick plumb, go all around the hull and mark where the stick touches the hull. Keep marks close together in areas where they form a sharp curve.
6) Follow all the marks with masking tape.
