Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for replacement leaf springs and hardware for my 1984 Shoreland'r trailer, which I'm using to trailer my Montauk 17' of the same model year. The springs are in BAD shape - completely rotted and inverted. The axle is nearly in contact with the trailer frame. When I contacted my local trailer parts store, they informed me that Shoreland'r no longer makes replacement parts for trailers this old. They were surprised I was still even using a galvanized trailer as old as mine in a saltwater environment.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find equivalent replacement springs and hardware that doesn't need to be welded on? I understand that there are some trailer supply sites that offer a "one size fits all" repair kit - dependent on the weight of the boat of course. I think most of these are weld-on kits though.

Bottom line is, I know the springs will be far cheaper than a new or used trailer. I'm a college student and need to be conservative with my cash and my time. I'm handy and feel confident that I could easily take care of a bolt-on style leaf spring kit. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

John
