Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Splashwell Guard for low transom boats

I was skimming the local San Francisco Bay Area Craigslist ads. Saw a "22 foot Boston Whaler Outrage" for sale. It is a 1983 with the low cut transom. Fore of the motor they installed a raised splash guard that prevents water from coming over the transom into the boat. Looks like a clean install. I fired off an email to ask how it was done, by who, etc... . Will keep all posted. Nice set of pictures with the boat ( I personally do not have the ability to post the access to the ad).

Looks to me like they used 1 inch styrofoam pieces fitted to the original splashwell. Then glued together to make a male plug, then covering with epoxy resin/glass cloth and gelcoat.

The fellow was nice enough to get back to me. My email stated my interest in the splash guard, not in a boat purchase. He purchased the boat with the guard and has no knowledge of how and who for manufacturer. However, he mentioned the immediate installation of a now necessary bilge pump because the self draining feature was compromised.
