I have removed a fuel vent from my 1974 Outrage 21 which was installed to vent the since removes saddle tanks. The remaining hole is about 3/4". I don't work with fiberglass but would like to fill the hole until I have other gelcoat issues addressed in the off season. Plastic hole plugs are not the best solution for this repair but will work for the short term. Has anyone used hole plugs for this fix, and if so, where did you find the best color match. Thanks for your help.

AS a temporary fix, I would find an SS trim ring which has a diameter the size needed to just cover the hole. 3/8 " may work. Then put a short, matching flat head machine screw in it, with fender washer and nut on the inside and you should be fine. Nobody will be the wiser.

Finnegan:; Thanks for the reply and that would be a viable option. In search for a solution I started looking all over the internet. Looking for the right profile, color, calling manufacturers, went to Lowers and Home Depot--WOW. Not much luck. Stopped by ACE Hardware store and bingo. Perfect size, low profile. Will need to be painted. BTW I love your boat Finnegan--it's a beauty.
