There wasn't much to the original rub rail. I was told with my Nauset, that the single best upgrade I could make was to upgrade to a modern Montauk rub rail. At that time the best price I could find for a new rubrail was with the Whaler dealer. The new rub rail offers some real protection and will make those old hulls POP!
