From a quick look at your boat on your personal page, you may be able to craft something similar to what we did on A Little Madness using an old teak swim platform off a sport fisher. I was able to use the side ledges, with an additional teak support block, and the stern drain ledge to support mine. It would appear you'd have to do some additional support structure on the sides, but it's doable. After taking interior measurements we bought a used teak swim platform on e-bay which I cut down, west system epoxy'd, varnished, and reassembled. The net result can be seen on our personal page. Good Luck!

There are pictures on my personal page of the seat I made for my custom. I wanted a place for rigging fishing rods and cutting bait but it workes quite well as a seat. I chose painted long leaf yellow pine because It goes against my grain to throw a flopping fish down on a varnished surface. This seat can just as well be made from varnished mahogany or teak. It is very strong and held in place by a 1" strip of Velcro on each side and is easily removable. Hope this helps

If you go to the Downloads section of this website and click on Parts Drawings, toward the bottom of the second page there is a downloadable drawing for the stern seat supplied as a factory option in the older 17' Whalers
