We have started to move some of the earlier Project Albums to the new Project Albums section.

We are starting off with the easy ones that don't have too many photos or comments.
This is very, very, time consuming and is going to take several months to complete the transition.
We not only have to move the photos and reinsert that info into the database but we also have to move all the page views and all the comments over to the new database tables.

For those of you that have Project Albums, check to see if yours has moved yet.
If it has, then you now have complete control of your new Project Album. You can rearrange your photos in any order you wish. You can upload your own photos and add or change descriptions, etc...

IMPORTANT:
To get to your new Photo Albums or Project Albums, you will see a new link under your name on the right sidebar titled either My Photo Albums or My Project Albums. Click on either of those links to enter your album and work with it.

We also have a new section called Photo Albums.
This section is for special or unusual items as you will notice.
This section also gives full control to the member. If you have anything else to add to your Photo Album, please do so.

For the members working on these new sections, please let us know if you experience any problems.

We hope you enjoy the new features of these new sections.
Check them out today.

I moved a few more today.

Only 19 albums to go....

This is going to take me a long time as I am already burnt out...

Time to take a break go fishing etc... My break time was made for me as I am getting so close to paint. One late night as I was really making progress on the boat, until the piston on the air compressor blew a ring. I feverishly went through parts and in no time was back at work, then it blew a line from the pump head, few minutes later I was back at it again. Finally as if the night had not been challenging enough, the air compressor blew out a bearing. I guess it was trying to tell me "take a break."
Don't blow a bearing. The site is great.

Latest info on Project Album migration.

All of the main Project Album descriptions have been moved to the new section.
However, the last 7 Project Albums do not have the photos moved into them at this time.

For those 7 of you that have blank Project Albums, please do not use these albums yet until we get the photos moved for you. Thank You...
You will be able to tell the albums that don't have any photos as they are listed as having "0" photos inside them.

These last 7 albums are going to take awhile as they have many photos inside them.

Scott,

Yep, one of your project albums is done and the other one isn't.

Have you finished the 13' project yet?
http://www.whalercentral.com/userphot...lbum_id=14
You can add photos to this if you have more.
Members are in complete control of their Photo Albums or Project Albums.
No more need to submit photos as you can do it yourself along with changing or adding descriptions etc....

A member can have as many Project Albums as they need as long as they are different projects like you have.

6 project albums left to transfer over to the new section.

I will be doing these in the order that they were created.

1. Blue_Northern (41 photos)
2. sraab928 (61 photos)
3. Turpin (38 photos)
4. bake (27 photos)
5. breakwaterboatworks (29 photos)
6. jquigley (38)

This is very tedious work as it involves moving all the comments and photo view counts and of course the photos.

I will attempt to do one album a day if time permits.

Thanks for everyone's patience...

Scott,

While I was transferring over comments on your album, I noticed you had several that were unanswered. You probably missed them.

Anyone else that has a personal page, project album or photo album, click on the Latest Comments for that section or on the Latest Comments on the left sidebar. Of course you have to check the comments periodically or they may not show up on the list. If this happens, you need to look at the number of comments at the bottom of the photo in the album.

Joe, you're doing a great job and I know everyone who frequents this site would probably agree.

Thanks a million!

Thanks CES...

Transferring photos, comments, number of photo views etc., is not something I really do NOT want to do again. It is tedious and it gave me a stiff neck and a dead brain...

However, we felt this was better to have separate albums and some of these albums also allowed the members to be in full control of their photos and albums.

Now that things are getting separated, we have 5 separate photo sections and we can add more photo sections without having to transfer anything.

Here are the separate photo sections we have now.
1. Part Photos
2. Members Personal Pages
3. Members Photo Albums
4. Members Project Albums
5. Whaler Model Specifications

That's it for me...

All albums have been transferred.

I heading out for a week's vacation and I don't have to worry about those albums again......... Finally...

Hope everyone with an album updates them as they work on their project.

Case Closed... B)
