Hi Keith,
Yes, the iPhone is basically a PDA so to speak.
You are much better off using Safari that is built-in.
I have an iPod Touch and Safari works and looks great using the regular address of http://www.whalercentral.com
No need for you to use the mobile function. This is only for regular cell phones that can't view the regular site.

It sure would be great if Whaler Central had an iPhone App.

Tom,
We have been trying to get a little more feedback on this but haven't heard too much from anyone.
I don't use my cell phone for data as I use an iPod Touch which has a full browser, mail, and Internet connection just like a laptop... Therefore I don't pay for a data plan on my cell phone.
I just hook up to free Wi-Fi wherever I go. Coffee shops, hotels, motels, fast food places, whatever...
CES,
What would you want the App to do?
I have an iPod touch and surf WhalerCentral just like I'm on a computer except it has a 3.5 inch screen but with zoom capabilities for reading the forums or reading email with the mail program.

Joe I use my LG touch to check in when at work. one think I notice is that surfing on a mobile phone with no browser There is a lot of scrolling to get past all the side bar stuff. The mobile version would would be better if it were just the forum. At least on my phone. I also thought at one time I could log in but lately I can not find a tab to do so. Really no big deal on that I usually just read the newest post any way. One day I will step up to a smart phone and catch up with the rest of you guys.

That's pretty much what I do with my iPhone......I have a shortcut on the front screen do do the same thing you do with your iPod. I'm not sure what I'd like the app to do.......maybe have fewer links so one can view the Personal page updates and latest threads.

I think as far as the mobile app goes, in my opinion, the simpler the better...........too much info is hard to scan through..........The forums should be the main focus

Tom, I agree. With the small 3.5 screen on the iPhone/iPod you have to zoom into the print on WC to see something. If there were an app, like what Joe mentioned above for Whaler Central mobile and set up like that, browsing WC on the go would be a little easier to do.
I'm grateful for what we have......just trying to make a suggestion so that WC could stand out above the rest.

While you're at it Joe, you need to set up a Facebook and Twitter link.............you know, in your spare time! :)

Whaler Central Mobile does not work the Verizon HTC running Android. But you can access Whaler Central through the use of it's web browser. Very much like the iPhone.

Bake,
We have 2 different ones at this time.
One you cannot login and the other one you can.
1. This is the first one which has the photo above in the first post.
http://www.whalercentral.com/m
WhalerCentral m
2. And here is the second that you can login.

We are keeping these slightly different in color for now so we can tell them apart immediately so don't judge the colors.
Just let us know if there are too many features or not enough.
The first one you cannot login to.
The second one has login so you can check your Private Messages and send Private Messages. This one also has some latest and random photo features.

Just a reminder about the mobile pages we have available for cell phones.
Not necessary for iPads and Tablets etc, but can make reading current posts quick and easy on many devices.

Thanks Joe! Never knew Whaler Central was mobile capable. A very nice feature. Now, if I only had a phone.
