Here on Whaler Central there is decidedly far less member animus and censorship than one would find on other whaler related sites.

I don't know to what this is attributable but it does exist and the fact that it does not on WC is a credit to the administrators sense of fair play and professionalism.

Thank you Joe Kriz & Mike

I think the reason it doesn`t exist here is there is that no forums exist here for people to post their political or religious views, On the other site some members exist only to post on those forums that are not Whaler related. Recently, one of those forums was eliminated, and that has helped some, but I never go there anymore. BTW I like your avatar. That is the way I remember the Coast Guard. Always with a cup of coffee in your hand. ;)

We could probably argue about anything on here but, we all agree, there's no boat made better than a "Boston Whaler", talk about "UNIBOND" ? I hope that I can give back 1/2 of what I've learned on W/C from the helpful Whaler Owners, and staff. There's no such thing as a dumb question here, and member's are kind to people that are new to boating, and have questions about their Whaler's. Just "Rock Solid" people who know and love their boats. We all share the same Hobby.

(We all agree, there is no better made boat, than a Boston whaler.) That may be a fact but there are some modern boats built as well as Boston Whalers.
But the thing is, back in the day Whalers were night and day from all other small boats, and thats were their "legend" status started. My present project a 1959 14` Sea Fury was so crudely built its almost unbelievable to look as my `61 13` Whaler,,and realize they were built in the same time frame. Fiberglass boats were a new adventure for boat builders in the `50`s, but Dick Fisher went down his own untraveled road, while others just stumbled along trying this and that. My Sea Fury had plywood stringers glassed over with one layer of mat and long ago rottedaway. When I removed them I stabbed a chisel trough the bottom. There is no floor, the inside of the bottom is the floor, and the plywood interior had long ago rotted away. Many boat builders of the day built similar boats, and becuase they were not encumbered by the restraints of wood they made them look like cars of the day with fins and all. I wish I had a restored `57 Chevy convertible to use to tow it.:D
