Ok...I've been dealing with this for a while.

I log into the site every time I come in (not the auto log in feature).

I get the "logging on" icon.

It logs me in and drops me at the home page. Then I go to discussion boards, and when I do, I get logged out. This will repeat several times before I can make it to the discussion boards and actually be logged in.

What's going on?

David,

I think you might be logging into whalercentral.com without the www.........

Here is the address that everyone should use to login and then they won't be logged out.
http://www.whalercentral.com

The address problem is a little glitch in the php system and there is nothing we can do about it at this time. We cannot redirect the address without the www to correct this problem because php cannot handle anymore redirects.

So just use the address above or below and see if this works for you.

Still confused.....I get logged in, but when I go to the disscussion area link, thats when it throughs me out.

Interesting post. I just checked and my default is to log in (using MSIE 6.0) without the www and haven't had an issue getting logged out when I post. However, I've had the opposite issue where when I click on Logout, it says it's logging me out, but doesn't. Not a big deal at all, just thought I'd add that.

Then I am not sure what exactly is happening.

Try this in this order.

1. Make sure your cookies are enabled in your browser
2. Clear your cache in your browser
3. Quit your browser
4. Open your browser and log into http://www.whalercentral.com

Then trying going to any of the other pages or Discussion Areas.
You should not get logged out. If you do, then I am not sure what is happening.

ok.....but how do I ensure cookies are enabled. I couldn't find it in "tools' "internet options"

I would think they are enabled. If I tell a site to keep me logged in for future visits, it does. Isn't that a cookie thing?

I haven't used a Windows computer in many years but I believe the cookies are under "advanced" preferences somewhere in the browser prefs.

Maybe some of the Windows users here can be more specific...

If you open a IE browser window and click on TOOLS in the upper left, then select INTERNET OPTIONS.... from the drop down list, and in the window that opens, select the PRIVACY tab, there's a vertical slider that allows you to select the cookie setting.

You can delete the temporary files in the GENERAL tab. A more complete clean is done by clicking the START button, then ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, and then DISK CLEANUP. This will allow you to clear out more temporary files.
