I have seen more of the Dauntless line recently. What are the differences between the two? What would be some of the resons to select one over the other?

From what I've learned, the Dauntless is designed more as a family boat...ie: cruising, water skiing, etc...there are also a couple of floor configurations...either the duel console and the center console...my preference is the CC...the Outrage has a deeper V and is considered more of a fishing boat...so you'll have less creature comforts...
Hope this gives you a little more info...
Good luck...

Dave is correct with descriptions but more than that the Dauntless was not actually designed to be a big water boat but more of a bay boat. The difference is clear when you see, for example, a 21 Outrage next to a 22 Dauntless. The Outrage has at least an extra 12+ inches of freeboard.

Here is an over lay of the 2 hulls in side profile. Dauntless is in Red outrage in Black.

Jeff - Thanks for the comparison. This is very helpful in showing the difference.
I found the Dauntless to be a great family boat given it's wide stern seat and bow area. It also has the openness for fishing 360. A good choice if you don't go offshore.

Jeff,
That is an awesome comparison. Can you also show similar comparison of the hull design?

That is a very good way to look at it.

Jeff,
You are forever charged with overlaying all Whaler designs over the image of comparable designs.
I suggest they be referred to as "Jeff's-Silhouette’s" (add your own .com million dollar idea name as required.)
