So I have a 1970 13ft whaler, I want to make it a super sport style interior. I would like to use mahogany but wood prices are outrageous at the moment, could I use oak or some other type of wood and still keep its value, durability?

I used IPE for cooler chocks and bilge cover on my 1988 17' Montauk. All wood is very high priced now.

Nice original $450
Oak is no Bueno. It will stain black & you are doomed.
