Hi All,
in the middle of a 1970 Sport 13 restoration and my attention is now on the transom. Feels pretty sturdy still, but the effects of multiple engines installed, removed, etc. linger.
Wondering if anyone has put a aluminum plate on the transom for this boat - not a jack plate, something that fits snuck on the transom (given its a 15"). Curious as the transom is curved, so it would have to be purpose built for this boat. Any help or links to find one online would be helpful. Thanks!

If the transom is solid and holes are repaired properly, not an issue.
If the transom moves when you lift the engine shaft, the transom should be rebuilt.
I have seen 4 or 5 plates over the years. All custom made Some have added curved plate on inside or outside. It is a bandaid to the real issue.

What Phil said and then there is resale. Nobody is going to buy a boat with a plate across the stern.
