I just pulled a 1980 13 ft Sport out of a old barn on a farm that just sold next to me.the wooden console is missing.Trying to find out what gauges go on the console.It has a 1980 Evinrude 35 hp on it.Model E35ELCSM.I'am also looking for a bow rail for it.And for all you Boston Whaler lovers the old farmer said to me give me $100 for the boat.motor and trailer,and take it home.Any help finding the gauges would be nice.
Thanks in advance.

Gauges are what you want to install. Finding a tach for that motor might be hard as they are weird like 5 pole. Some install an hour meter, volt gauge or again, whatever you want to install. For a 1980 35hp you want to run a 10x13" prop and really don't need a tach.

Bow rail should be easy to find, depends on what you want to spend. Specialty marine sells them new, Whaler probably does as well. I personally do not like bow rails on 13's. Side rails however are a good idea.

I was thinking a volt gauge so I know the battery is charging ok.I asked because the console was missing and wanted to find out what was on it to restore it back to new like condition.Thanks

I like water pressure gauges to know how my water pump is performing. A voltmeter would also be useful although my 1981 Sport 13 has no gauges. The voltmeter is less important if you can pull start the engine. Mine is a 35 HP four stroke that can be pull started but I have not tried it.

Hello;
Did you install the water pressure gauge on your engine,mine is the original 35hp evinrude that came with the boat.Mine's electric start but it does have a pull start on top of the engine.Like to have a volt meter so I don't have to pull start it.
Thanks

You do not need a volt meter to start an outboard by the electric starter. The volt meter just lets you know if there is a charging problem. Pull starting a 35 can be done while sitting down when warm. I actually use a lawn mower battery on my 13' as it is very light compared to a marine battery. Have never had a problem with it and they cost $29.
