I just purchased a 1968 13" Whaler. The Bow Light is not installed and the original wires are too short o reconnect the bow light. I have read the wires for the bow light are routed through the foam. Is it possible to run new wires through the foam using the old wires as a pull string?

Not possible.

You will want to switch to the revised method, inside the rubrail insert.

If you have a 1968 model with the ORIGINAL style white rubrail, Phil's method will not apply, as you have no black insert to run the wire.

For the earlier rubrail, with no insert, you have to run the new duplex #16 or #18 wire under the lip of the hull. Drill through the hull both at the bow light and at the stern sidewall where the stern light is. A junction box is installed at that location. See photo of this item in personal website Montauk album. Hold the wire in place under the hull lip with white electrical/duct tape. It will not show.

The first thing I would try is to extend the existing wires. Presolder wire ends and attach, add heat shrink. You might have to open the exit hole a little but it has worked for some. No joy if you don't have continuity from front to back but it is worth a shot.

Next, if you want to stay with the one piece white rubrail just dado in a slot under the rubrail to accept the wire.
