Recently purchased a 1968 16 whaler and it had a Todd leaning post which I want to replace with something that my 22 gall Moeller tank will fit under without rocking or building a base.

Looking at the Wise Stainless Swing back seat for around $650 shipped.

Also looking at the RPS with Swing back that Specialty Marine sells for $750 + shipping.

I think the Wise would weigh less, but the RPS would be more appropriate.

Any other suggestions for a swing back style ?

Any used RPS's for sale ?

Thanks

(Edit: 1968 would be a 16' model for clarification)

If you have the original wood console or if you don't, I would contact Bob Latourelle who produces "whaler quality" replacement interiors and wood parts.

Bob is well reviewed by owners for high quality products. Give him a call.

I would not go with SM.
