Has anyone ever applied a product called "Safe Deck" to their Boston Whaler. The product is a rubber particle and epoxy coating that is applied to the boat deck. It has a 10 year warranty and provides non-skid and easier cleanup. Would like to know your pros and cons.

The OEM non-skid on our Whalers have proven very effective. It is applied to virtually every surface one could choose to stand or walk on.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. If your Whaler has good non-skid on her, it does not get much better. Whaler is probably the most aggressive non-skid I have seen.

I misspoke on product. It is Safe Floor. Gives the boat a different look for sure. Not sure it hurts boat price to BW Purists. It feels more comfortable under your feet and allegedly cleans more easily.

Anything you do to a Whaler "usually" hurts resale. Changing the non-skid for any other reason than covering a major repair will be detrimental to your resale.

I had it on my last boat, a 1978 19 Lowpro. It is very tough stuff. Pretty much impossible to damage but is repairable if it is damaged, and the place that installs out here does warranty on it.
I installed it to cover cracks all over the decks old gelcoat. They sand the deck, roll on clear epoxy and then put the safe floor on. So a damaged deck gets sealed up.
Easy to walk on bare foot but not fun to kneel. Even though it is rubber coated epoxy, it is not soft. Can get hot in the sun. Does seem to fade in the sun over the years. Some people swear by it, so much that brand new boats have it installed all the time.
It did not hurt the resale of my boat, but I could see it hurting the resale of other classic Whalers. It fit the look of my boat well.
Mine looked very professional and had a very clean installation, which dresses up the boat in a way. It is stupid easy to clean, just flush with water, no soap. Use lots of water. I stored my anchor on my front deck at all times, and you couldn't even tell it was stored there on the safefloor. On my boat now, it is so hard to not bump the deck with the anchor.
Really for the purpose it serves and quality, it is the best product you can get for category of deck covering. And you will pay for it because it is not cheap.

Great advertisement but what is the purpose if the deck is not damaged....easy to clean and it fades over a few years? That does not make sense.

That's not an advertisement. That is my experience with it. I paid a lot for on my last boat.
There are professional saltwater guides out here that swear by Safe floor in their boats. And have it installed on their new boats before htye even take it out for the first trip.
I dont have it my current boat. The two tone gelcoat is too nice looking in my boat.
It is actually standard on a couple of Aluminum boat manufactures that are local. Drop a split shot on the deck and you dont even heard it. Super traction especially leaning on gunnel fishing.
If you have to ask why do you need it then you obviously don't need it in the your boat.
