New member. Lived on LI Sound my whole life and finally bought a boat. I have a 2014 130 Super Sport.
I like to stand while going through harbors, mooring fields, etc. While standing I cant reach the throttle to adjust. I have to bend down ( not good with a bad back ). I looked but cant seem to find anything that talks about raising the throttle, a telescoping throttle, something I can adjust while standing. Am I missing something or the only one who has this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Not owning a 130 I can only suggest raising the console, which is what many members have done on various boats.

Do a site search on raising consoles. I've never heard of a throttle extension.

I can feel your pain.

Try kneeling.

I had to look this thread up because I am worried about you. You are in a 13 ft boat and standing up when it gets rough? You better have a kill switch attached to your knee. It is just a matter of time before you are wet and the boat is on its own.

This is a classic case of you need a bigger boat to do what you want to do.

Please, show of hands of anyone that thinks I am wrong.

Might I suggest an elevated seat. something like a thick cushion to sit on to give you a little better view but still with your hand on the throttle and wheel.

Thanks for reply mg56 and acassidy. Mg, appreciate your concern, and as a new boater your advice is good, but for me, as my original post said, I like to stand in harbors and mooring fields, not when its rough. I also have a kill switch hooked up at all times. Its really an issue of just being able to stand and adjust the throttle without bending down. For me standing feels good, bending to keep my hand on throttle and in control at all times is painful. It looks like its not an issue for most people so Im just going to have to figure something out.

Acassidy, a higher seat with good support is my next purchase.

Thanks again
