Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: What is this in my cabin?

So after putting my 1981 Revenge 25 in the water the other day I notice there was just a little water in the hold under the cabin floor. There is a bilge plug in there as well. Each day there is a little more water but after a week maybe a couple of cups. I noticed right off it was coming from this big elongated plug not from the bilge plug or the underwater drain that I am guessing was for adding a toilet and pump.
This piece also seems to have what looks like a plastic hose fitting coming from it that I noticed today may have a plug in it (looks like just silicone).
Either way I would like to know what it is for and why it would be leaking. I check the boat every day so not worried but curious. Hate to pull her with such nice weather out.

Thanks and see the attached photo.

It’s just one photo without much context/perspective, but that looks to me like a thru-hull fitting for an old depth sounder transducer. The wire connecting the transducer to the depth sounder display has been cut - - so it is no longer in use.

I appreciate you comments. That is what I assumed it might be. My context/perspective was in the words I used to describe where this fitting is located (cabin floor hold). I am sorry I was not more descriptive.
I just wanted to see if there was a factory fitting I was missing since I have never seen a through hull that was not removed when not used with a boat that has been on a trailer.

Thanks

The fact that this is leaking is very disconcerting.

Through hull transducer?

I would check the underside of the hull. It needs to be resealed at best or removed and repaired at worst. Leaking water in a foam hulled boat is a big deal.
