Goodmornng,
1986 boston whaler outrage 18 . Would like to purchase new bow bit/chock from specialty Marin (stainless steel0. Is this a quality product? Also has anyone had experience getting the old one off? (This is the one that laps over the bow rub rail and has a square bollard) I just noticed that they now are offering it $175.
1987 boston whaler montauk 17 . The drain tube located under the engine well and exiting behind the outboard. Is the brass replacement my only option? Are there any pvc options?
as always I remain respectfully
Richard

Richard -
Drain Tube - PVC drain tubes have not performed well due to the length of the tube and the angle of the transom.
The benefit of the brass tube is cut to length and the flair (curl back toward the transom) of the tube and O ring create a good seal.

Check out Marine Part Depot -they have it in SS and I have found their quality to be great. It's out of stock now but they get them back in. Sign up for their email and they'll send 15% promo codes. http://www.marinepartdepot.com/stbowhnalibw.html

I replaced the Brass tube on my Montauk about 15 years ago with the Whaler PVC tube. I bought it from the whaler dealer. They had to order it, but I put it in and no problems with it at all.
