We just bought our first boat, a 15’ 1995 Dauntless. We plan to use it for the kids to jump off and swim in the lake as well as tubing. However, they have trouble climbing into the boat without a ladder. We are considering installing a transom ladder due to limited storage for a hook ladder. Can anyone recommend a good ladder and have tips for installing?

I don't know where you can buy one because mine was installed when I bought my 1995 Dauntless. I thought you might want to see a pic of what it looks like installed to help in your search.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pic. Unfortunately, we don’t have the swim platform to attach to. Wish I did!

Undaunted-

Congratulations on your purchase.

With the tight storage space, you should strongly consider installing a platform/ladder.

Ray Martin of www.martinmarinedesign.com makes them for various Whaler hulls. Give him a call to discuss which will fit your model.

Thanks for this information. I was trying to save a little on this component since I bought the Mills Canvas Bimini top and the full set of cushions. Do you think I’d have any luck with something simple like this...
