Been working on restoring a 15' whaler for a couple of years now and getting closer to the finish line. Had to sand off all the anti-slip pattern on the flooring. Just got done building up 1/32" of epoxy filled cabosil and sanding that smooth. Now moving on to the gutters. What's the best way to sand/reshape/define the edges? Should I do it freehand, use a sponge with sandpaper, or build a sanding block? Wanted to see what others with more experience restoring could offer to help make me avoid mistakes. :) I tend to have to do things twice, but wanted to avoid it this time. Thanks in advance!

Also, planning on painting with AwlCraft 2000 in oyster white. Already ordered the material. Any opinions on the color and process? Wasn't confident in my abilities with AwlGrip as I've never sprayed before and also like the fact that I can make "fixes" later. For the purists, the gelcoat was beyond saving so I didn't have that option.
