Does anyone have a mills cover for their 150 Montauk, and if so did you install the hook fasteners?
I will just be using for a cover while on the trailer and am wondering if tying down to the trailer using the sewn in loops right above the shock cord for the hook fasteners would work.

I don't have a Mills cover but I do hook straps to the trailer in addition to the all around cord when driving 75mph. Works great keeps water and dirt out during long hauls.
So in answer yes I think tying down to the trailer will work I don't like adding fasteners to the topsides of any boat.
Their fastening system has stainless hooks drilled into the underside of the rub rail and then attached with built in bungee cords. I agree tho I don't want to drill.
It has a drawstring and sewn in loops above each bungee so that should work fine.

Endura from
http://boatcovers.iboats.com/ and selected the Sunbrela type I believe 9oz. with 10 year warranty
I have used also used Shoretex(sp) Prism cover for another boat and that material is 9oz too and bought a 600 Denier Sharkskin for my 14ft Achilles 12 years ago and all 3 even though different material seem to be holding up well. They all have/had 7 to 10 year warranties.
I do store my boats inside during the Michigan winter but they all are stored outside the other 7 months and covered when not in use with these boat covers.
I have had custom (local canvas shop) canvas made for larger boats but I have to say I've always been happy with the result and quality of these 3 covers I bought thru iBoats.
