Hi,

the bait well in my 1997 Dauntless 17' DC (Bowrider) has an old, rusty, broken, impossible to read model # hydraulic strut on it. It looks like the standard 10mm? ball size on both ends of the receiving brackets. Measuring the actual strut body/barrel (minus the mounting head gives me about 10". The connecting head is an extra 1". The distance, center of ball to center of ball from the bait well to the bait well top is right at 22". The telescoping shaft was broken off, close to the barrel so no idea what used to be there other than the receiving bracket on both ends has the generic balls.

I was going to go with one with those dimensions, or at least close to it, but then we got to the pressure rating. I was going to decide on a 10lb rating, but then have to account for the offset where the mount is from the center of the lid.
So, long way around, but wanted to show I have done some homework, Is there a part number or specification for these bait well struts?

SECOND QUESTION: I have the original johnson 115hp Ocean Runner 2 cycle V4 engine on it. It does NOT have an automatic oil injector on it. What are the general opinion and experience of these oil injection systems. The 17' Dauntless has a 39 gallon built in tank. If the overall opinion is positive, what would be the best model, either OMC or aftermarket for my situation?

Thanks for the help in advance.
