Recommend using a polysulfide based marine sealant, not silicone and not an adhesive.

I use and recommend Life Caulk.
If you need a close color match, you could try OSI Quad in almond.
Starbright used to make a almond colored caulk, but it is no longer available.

Quad caulk is terrible-It shrinks about 50 percent making multiple applications a must. As far as I know, Boston Whaler did use silicone caulking on some tank covers, maybe not all, but they did use it. In fact, they had a special color made by Starbrite, spelling? This is no longer available. There are several companies that make tile grout with silicone caulk in matching colors. I have used them with great success in both durability and color match. I will see if I can find an old tube and post the maker. If not, just do a search for colored silicone caulk, and tile grout. The silicone they sell is used for swimming pool applications, so it will certainly work for boat interior sealing.

I always use Lifeseal, not lifecaulk. Works better and stays more flexible. A few dollars more per tube.

I used to use the lifecaulk.

Phil, did you check recently with Star Brite?

When the previous owner of my 1991 Outrage 17 removed the deck panel to fix a soft soft, he found out that the Starbrite almond caulking can now be ordered in small quantities directly from the company, even if it's not available anymore from Twin Cities. That color is a perfect match with the Desert Tan interior.

Here's what's on the receipt, dated May 2012, when he ordered two tubes:
Star Brite Inc.
4041 S.W. 47 Avenue
Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33314
Tel: (954) 587-6280
Fax: (954) 587-2813
Item number: 082155EA
Description: Each, 300 ML-SIL.SLNT/Almond 10.3oz
Unit price: 12.25

Could be worth a call!

I checked last week with Sue Lodel (I have upcoming deck removal project). She stated the Star Brite is no longer available.

She carries the Quad caulk in beige.
