Considering replacing my thru hulls on my 1963 13'er. How do you know when it's time? Mine feel a little rough but not obviously compromised.

On my 1979 22'Revenge.......the brass tubes looked good but tired. After removing and having a moisture meter reading. The tubes failed from the inside out and still looked pretty good. Replace your tubes. It's time.......no questions asked.

Hmm... are you sure? Just kidding. I guess I'll replace my tubes. Thanks for the Tough love!

Now that you have decided to do a tube job; read the related posts that detail how to do it. It is really easier than the descriptions make it seem. I have a complete set of tools including the air hammer tool (not the air hammer itself) you can use for the cost of shipping them back and forth; usually about $15 total. Send me an email and I will get them headed your way.

Walt thanks... very nice of you. I know nothing about the tool you describe. I assumed the manual flaring tool would be the appropriate method...keeping in mind my 13' drain tubes are only 3 inches long or so. I've never done it so I'll wisely consider your advise. Perhaps there are videos out there that would shed light.
