I see several posts for casting platforms but no manufacture's names or where to purchase one. Can anyone provide a lead for me?

The casting platform was an OEM option from Whaler. NLA. You will need to watch craigslist (and this forum) closely, and have patience, if you want to find one on the used market. But they do come up for sale every so often.

Alternatively, you could make one from wood and/or fiberglass.

As JRP mentions, those are hard to find.

You also need to be careful to purchase the correct one as there were two versions.
1. 1973-1975 Smirkless hulls
2. 1976-2002 Smirked hulls

Here is the first version that will not fit your model

There was no "Montauk" model before 1973.

For the non-smirked, classic 16'7" with a Sakonnet console:

Under the Reference Section drop down menu, DOWNLOADS, scroll to CASTING PLATFORM for Sakonnet

That is essentially what I was referring to when I mentioned you can build your own.

I have one on my Outrage 19 and it is very handy. Member Finnegan made it. He does nice work.
