I wanted to share with the forum. I replaced the trailer for my 1979 Montauk with a Magic Tilt MCV 1517N. The boat sits nicely on the trailer, a bit lower than the last one whic was a Royal trailer. Easy to launch and retrieve. It came set up from the factory set up for the Montauk and did not need any adjusting. The tongue weight could be lighter however. It cost about $1800 from a local dealer (Spring 2014 price). The eye hook is a little small but it fits however it is starting to rust as the galvanization is wearing off due to the poor fit. I am glad I salvaged the hook from the old trailer. Overall I am happy with the purchase.
