Anyone have a suggestion for cleaning old stickers and glue off acrylic windshield without damaging the surface?

Hi Tom,
I have had very good luck using a product called Motsenbocker's LIFTOFF (there are a few umlauts over the 'o's in the brandname). I have used this on some very high-gloss varnished teak which had old masking tape/residue on it, and the result was no tape or residue and still glossy surface. The bottle I have says good for all surfaces, but as with any product like this it is prudent to try a bit on a hidden area.
I bought my bottle on Amazon.

I used Goof-Off. Test an area first. Use a plastic putty knife.
I have used a hairdryer on low and that has worked. You need to go
very slowly.
Remember, the windshield is easily scratched. There is a compound to buff out scratches.
Only clean with water and a lint free cloth.

WD-40 is an excellent solvent for sticker adhesive. If Goof-Off does not damage acrylic, then I doubt that WD will, but the last time I looked there were some water based versions of Goof-Off? The old original stuff was pretty aggressive with high power solvents.

A hair of heat does not hurt....not too much from a hair dryer.
