I am trying to find a replacement gas gauge for my 1987 18' Outrage. It seems to have frozen - stuck on 1/4 full. My mechanic has standard gauges but the Whaler's size is larger. Have tried the Whaler dealer nearest to me in Wilmington, NC, but no luck. The gauge is in the floor under a clear deck plate cover. My mechanic calls it the gas gauge or " element". Any suggestions as to where I could locate this?

It is possible the float and (arm) that goes up and down with the level of fuel is stuck/frozen.
