Hi all. Learning my way around here. Recognizing a few names from CW..... I assume I'm in the right place to post this.
Got back from a beach trip with the Montauk a couple months ago. Hosed, flushed, and hosed two or three more times. Had every intention of going to the river and running her out in fresh water like I usually do but life got in the way...
Anyhoo - uncovered last weekend and cables locked, shifter locked up (won't pull out into neutral), key switch corroded. Salt water %$@# sometimes (least when you take it for granted).
I've taken the Morse MT2 apart thinking corrosion was and the culprit but plastic bushing the throttle arm assembly passes through to exit the housing assembly was boogered up pretty bad. I took a dremil tool to the top and shaved off about 1/16th inch to clean it up, then polished the throttle arm assembly greased and re-assembled. Better but not perfect. I think problem is the pin that passes through the throttle arm on the outside of the housing assembly and rests in the grooves when not in neutral is bent. To be safe, looking for arm assembly, spring, plastic bushing, and Pin. Anyone got any sources? Spent couple hours on the internet so far and no luck....
Ll.
