I am doing some research on refinishing the wood any comments on either oil , varnish, or sikkens?

Varnish is beautiful but in my opinion I prefer the oil. It is much easier to do and it doesn't look glossy. If you prefer that look, then I would go with varnish, but I like the natural look of the oil. It usually lasts two seasons before I just wipe it on again. When I first did my oil the wood was gray and weathered. I had to lightly sand it first to oil, but once you keep it up it is very easy to do season after season. Lots of good resources on this site so I would choose what you like best. Good luck!

Sikkens held up the best for me.

I did it in sikkens marine.it came out nice but it looks kind of orange.i should have went with sikkens natural teak. I was going to put a gloss coat on it but I think I'm going to wait a couple of years to see if I like the color first
