my 1997 175 Rage porpoises and it is annoying.i adjusted the trim plate down only about one inch because that is all the bolt will allow.

Generally the reason a boat porpoises is that the motor is trimmed too jar up. In that position, the motor is continually trying to raise the bow up. The bow will only raise so far before the weight becomes too great and overcomes the ability of the motor to keep it up there, so it drops.

This cycle then repeats. Try lowering the trim on the motor so it's not trimmed so high. It may take several steps before it rids itself of the porpoising, but it may have to be adjusted again if you have pax seated in the bow area.

This is a jet powered boat with no trim adjustment under way...

I have seen some guys add those automatic spring loaded trim tabs to these - Maybe that's what they are trying to eliminate.

Hello Popeye67, do a forum search through Scream & Fly. This site typically attracts the boaters with the Jet-Drive boats, big horse-power outboard ski-boats and the likes. Research what trim systems are being used with the Jet Drives.

Trim tabs may be a solution for you either spring tension, hydraulic, and/or electric assuming your transom has the capacity and access for the installation of either.

Happy boating...
