Hi Guys,
I keep my
1987 17' Montauk at a summer home in Maine and can't run out to check so appreciate input on my question.
The bow/stern lifting/tow eyes are tired looking chromed over brass. I want to upgrade to stainless but would prefer to not replace the currently installed threaded rod. Can anyone confirm whether the existing/OEM threaded rod is stainless? Just wanting to evaluate corrosion/dissimilar metals. The boat is used in saltwater but is primarily trailered and always rinsed so I'm not too worried but would like to know what the story is on the threaded rod.
thx

I think it was.
Finding high quality eyes will be expensive. The dimples may not fit since the size and designs have changed.
Why not have the existing ones re-chromed. Probably cheaper.
