In my console there was a false floor raised about 4" above the main deck. It supported batteries, etc. There was an oval hole all the way to starboard where steering and electrical cables passed through to the main deck center hole for the tunnel. Does that hole have to be to starboard or can it be directly above the main deck center hole? Also does anyone have the part number for the white plastic oval dam that prevented items from falling through the hole? Or know where to find one?
Thanks

I think the reason the console floor hole is on the right is most mechanical steering cables go that way. I changed my mechanical steering to hydraulic and the mechanical steering cable needed room to make the "turn" through the console floor and into the centered deck hole. Also having the steering cable/electrical wires to the far side leaves more usable space and easier access to storage from the side console door. If you have a unique project and need to put the steering cable and wires in a different location, I would say it would work as long as your steering cable can make the turn.
I do not know the name of the plastic oval dam but hopefully one of our sponsors sells them.
