Hi all I have a 1978 Sport that has new SS wood, bow and side rails. The side rails extend 9" above the gunnel and the bow rail extends 12" above the gunnel. I would like to order a semi custom cover and the canvas company is asking me what year my boat is. Seeing that my year does not conform to a 78, what year should i give them?

Berger we need more info to help you. Do you have separate bow and side rails like me or do you have the supersport one-piece wrap around bow/side rail?

I did receive them yet. However, it sounds like your bow rail may be similar in height to the super sport wrap around rail.

OK - Here is a link to the pictures for the group: https://plus.google.com/1094240226059...AwPP284Luk

My bow rail is 9" above the gunnel aft, 13" at the mid post, and 17" at the two most fore posts. I purchased it from Specialty Marine and is advertised as a replica of the original bow rail available as an option from Boston Whaler.

The super sport wrap around style rail is about 9" above the gunnel at the bow.

So it sounds like your bow rail is in between the two. I would get the canvas company on the phone and explain the situation and give them clear measurements to go by.
