3rd year in a row I need to replace the raw water pump, livewell pump, horn and fishbox pump. Am i the only one having these issues. Tired of paying each year to replace these parts. anyone know how easy to replace these?

What year and model boat do you have? Are these factory installed or aftermarket?

If certain valves are not in the correct position(s), the pumps can be burned out. Are they being used as instructed by the owner's manual?

Under normal use, factory installed pumps you refer to, should last many years before requiring replacement.

its a 2011 Outrage 220 with factory installed items. using as suggested in book. dealer is saying they never had these problems in past. dealer telling me pumps are getting wet and saltwater making them burn out.

I believe the dealer is "smoking something" (to be pleasant). Use with water would not burn them up that quick. I would guess the horn recycled too much water also. Maybe the charging system is creating higher voltage? Too low?

If all is correct with the original installation, and you are following proper use guidelines, it never ceases to amaze and disappoint me that a licensed/accredited shop will (in this instance) replace pumps and horn as an annual maintenance, tell the owner it is "type of water" and not look for other causes.

Are they the original installers? Are both the horn and pumps on the same circuit? Have you taken it to another shop? Did you save the old repair slips and see if it is under warranty?

Lets take a step back and eliminate possibilities.... We need more information to help. Remember, the questions below are not to be critical of your ownership, just fact finding.

Is the boat hauled out or in use year round?
If hauled out, are the pumps/hoses drained and valves left open?

Do you actually use each of the the items semi-frequently during the year?

Do you follow the Operations Manual (starting in section 3-10) as described in the link from Boston Whaler?

The live well pump will be damaged if run w/o water. If the strainers and valves are not clear, the pumps can be damaged.

There are pumps made by Jabsco, Jabsco PAR-Max 4 Water Pressure System Pumps, which sell for about $175, are used for wash down or fish well and can be run dry. I have a feeling you are having the motors burn out as that's what used to plague me. I took one of the bad pump motors to a motor rewinding place and they told me the seals on the impeller shaft were cheap and prone to fail. You would think Jabsco could have fixed that by now but then again, people keep coming back to buy another one so why should they?

So is something dripping/spraying saltwater everywhere?

How are your pump mounted, what is the orientation?

My vintage 1996 raw water and fresh water pumps are still working. They are mounted vertically, motor up and fluid end down.

parts are factory mounted - not sure how they are getting wet (raw water pumop and horn are wet). keep boat on a trailer.. raw water is ran only when out on boat and want to wash down while fishing. Ran find 2 weeks ago than would not run last week. Not sure about the fish box - don't use but while fishing i noticed water in it and turned on pump to pump out water and it did not work - (not sure how long it was not working). Live well just stopped pumping while fishing last week - only turn on when in the water.

Have the strainers been cleaned?
Are the valves in the right positions?
Are you following the instructions?

If you answered YES to all three, I would contact Boston Whaler Customer Support a report the problems.

sorry been away - horn and other punps just coincidence. have time this weekend and i think i am going to see if i can pull the raw water pump and replace it myself. yes factory mounted, values opened, used as directed in manual and cleaned out
