I am looking for suggestions re finding a configuration that can accommodate a transom mount for a Minn Kota Traxxis 55.
The challenge is that the mount that comes with the Traxxis 55 will not open wide enough to attach to the transom. The opening is 3 1/2 inches and I need around 4 1/2 to 5 inches.
I want to stay with a transom mount as I want to be able to remove it when not fishing - and do not want to do drilling of any type on the boat. Transom mounted motor fits the bill for that and for they type of open water trolling that I will be doing.
Has anyone seen any type of aftermarket mount that might work in this situation?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions!

A quick update.
It is becoming obvious that Minn Kota is not interested in Whaler owners as clients. They do not make anything to accommodate the transom hull depth that we require.
I will continue to look for a solution but when I find it it will NOT Include a Minn Kota motor.
They obviously do not what the business of Whaler owners who choose a transom mount configuration.

Can you provide photo's of where you are trying to mount the motor? The clamp on mounts are all pretty standard but I am not as familiar with the transom of the Dauntless as to why a 3 1/2 inch opening would not work. I know the MotorGuide that mounts find on my 18 Outrage. I could measure the opening on the MotorGuide, but it will be a couple weeks before i'm back at the boat.

Thanks for the response!
I will get some pics off tomorrow. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Motorguide would be a good option if it fits. I am totally disgusted with Minn Kota. The opening on the Minn Kota Traxxis 55 lb thrust is the largest opening they offer......3 1/2 inches. This tells me they simply don't want Whaler owners business if they are looking for a transom mount.
My Dauntless is a 96. They made the 13 (actually 13.4 measurement) Dauntless for four or five production years then it became a 14. The Dauntless hull really handles well and can take the chop on Lake St. Clair for fishing in most conditions during the week and early mornings on the weekends. We have a 32 ft bridge boat for busy times on the lake.
We really got it for cruising/fishing the backwater (St. Clair Flats) and trailering to some of the beautiful lakes in Northern Michigan.
I checked out you we site. The Outrage is sweet. The 13 will be well worth the work once you finish the rehab.
Picks and dimension to come soon.
Thanks again for the response and feedback!

I sounds like Motorguide is the way to go.
They actually have real customer service that will go the extra step to provide information regarding measurements - that appear to fit.
Kamie - Thanks for your offer to review pics. You recommendation of checking out motorguide was well taken. They not only have a transom mount that seems likely to fit from the diagram they just sent me......the actually know how to treat customers.
More after I take some measurements from the boat.
