I removed the cooler cleats in front of the console on my 1998 Outrage 17 to reseal the screw holes as a preventative maintenance.
While searching for a cooler that would fit in that cleat as it was originally intended, which I did not find, I thought of replacing the cleat with some thing low profile. This will give me more options on the coolers to choose from.
It would take away the originality of the boat but it would be a nice upgrade.
What are your opinions and suggestions?
The dimension for the cooler base in the original cleats is 22 10/16" x 13 3/4".

I prefer the OEM cleats (fiberglass or wood) since they prevent the cooler from moving by being "seated. The Yetti bracket does not do this.
Give your cleat a good wet sand and reinstall.
I would guess an Igloo Marine 54qt would be accurate for your model. The measurements aren't quite right since they don't take into account the recess channel of the cooler to mate to the cleat.

Best way to be sure is measure/template the cleat recess area when installed and bring it into the store. Then shop the internet for price.

Great point and idea Phil about the cooler sliding when seated. I did not think about that.
Thanks for the feedback.
