HI all,
It's been a while since I have posted here,
I have had it with this bad gas we have nowadays seems if I let the boat sit a while I get a load of water and end up taking the carbs apart in order to use the boat
I plan to get one of those water separator filters with a clear plastic bottom with a water drain, My issue is where to install it, the best place that is not in the way and will have easy access to drain it and replace the filter element.
Would like to see pictures of what others have done.
Also what what brand filters are most using.

I do not think that there are that many brands of filters to choose from, at least that is what I have discovered in the past several months of searching for my own needs.

I recently replaced the bracket and fuel water separator on my 17'. I also added an extra clear filter to catch any particulate left behind by the water separator filter before it finds its way into the engine.

The purpose of my clear filter addition was two fold, first to have an extra filter and second to have a visual on the fuel flow.

I got 10 micron sierra on mine and a 23 micron on the engine. My plan is to frequently drain and replace the water separator filters to keep the fuel clean. I also added Rislone gas treatment in the tank.

I too was thinking of the filter/separator with the clear bowl underneath but I did not have room for it.

My Filter, starboard Stearn locker.
