It was a crappy weekend here in Chesapeake so I started assessing my winter projects for the old Whaler. Something that's been bugging me for a while is the plastic in the Rod Holders in the RPS were worn out but I think I finally found a good solution. 1.5" schedule 40 PVC fits perfectly inside the tube and I found a bushing / cap at Home Depot that finishes it off nicely.
As finishing touch I notched an L at the bottom of each with a saw so when I twist them they lock in place. What do you think?

I like it! Can you list the part number of the bushing/cap for everyone in case they want to replicate what you've done?
Thanks for sharing.

I just fished them out of a bin at Home Depot and I already cleaned the label off so I don't have a part number. I don't think the one in the picture below is the correct size but it looks like the same thing I used.

The description says it "adapts schedule 40 to schedule 30" and I'm sure the pipe that fits inside the SS tube on the RPS on my whaler is 1.5" schedule 40 PVC. Hope that helps.
