The gas tank on my 1984 18' Outrage needs to be replaced. What is the best tank to purchase -- one that will not be damaged by today's gas?

There is a lot of info on this site. Search it and enjoy.
For replacement tank, pop the front fuel sender cover off on the floor by your center console and look for manufacturer sticker on tank. I just did this for parts to mine. If tank is made by Florida marine tanks , get capacity and call them. They are still making the tanks and are ethanol complaint. You just at need new fuel lines/vent lines, etc.

Good luck

You should add your location to your profile so we can provide you geographic-based advice.
If you south of NY and east of the Mississippi, Florida Marine is the right way to go. Outside of this area, shipping will get progressively more expensive the farther you are. A local aluminum fabricator can make you a tank using the existing one as a template.
Figure ~ $1k including the replacement of hoses.

I thought I needed a new tank...turns out the fiel pick up line was blocked . cleaned the tank out. runs great good luck........Henry
