I just received my shipment from Specialty Marine and the stuff looks great. I am curious about mounting the console rod holders. It appears that my Montauk never had them, as there are no holes in the console. How do I figure out where to mount them? Should I just eyeball it, or is there a diagram somewhere showing placement. Also, mine screw in from the outside, but I saw someone say in another post that they mounted from inside the console? Should I replace the stainless wood screws with nuts and bolts?

There is a diagram in the "Downloads" section for Console Rod Holder location.
We also have an article in the Article link on the left sidebar for rod holder location.

Mine are stock and have bolts that go through the console via a hole in the actual rod holder(and teak blocks) itself. The nut w/ a lock-washer goes on the bolt inside of the console.

I mounted the rod holders using the diagrams and pictures that were available. They came out great, but I didn't swap the screws that came with the set with nuts and bolts yet. Living in Florida, you have to get out boating early during the summer months or you are facing lightning and torrential rain! Tough choice, work on the boat or enjoy the boat?
Just a tip for anyone that orders and installs rod holders in the future, attach the snap bases before you mount the rod holder teak bases. Trying to mount the 4 inside snap bases to hold the cushions after the rod holders were installed took me almost as much time and effort as the rest of the job!
