I would like some advice on what height I should use on my newly restored 1980 13 SS. I believe I have choice of 46" to 54" based on what I am seeing. We are not tall people, between 5'4" and 5'9". Thanks so much for any feedback.

An average person sitting from butt to top of head needs 38" to 42". Based on that the top of your bimini should be more than 46" above the seat, if the admiral or you want to wear a head and get out from under it. IMO

I'd get the taller one for ease of moving around and over seats, etc. You might think it will look too tall, but IMO, it won't; and you will be happy for the added headroom.

Pirate, what you do is mount the bimini top in a slide track on top of the gunnels, this gives you clearance to stand under the top and then you can slide the top forward and tie it down to the front when not in use, it will be out of your way.

I second the taller bimini and also slide track. The slide track gives so many advantages to stowage and placement of top when up that it was a must have for me.
