Westland has a trailering cover $400 - $600 range. How well would a trailering cover work as a mooring cover? Do they cinch up with a drawstring? Looking at a wet slip, and want to cover boat. Anyone use one like this? Mooring cover from mills is $1100 and I think you have to drill hull. My boat is a 190 Montauk.

Does anybody use a mooring cover?

I have not, but I had a simple cheap cover around 150 bucks from outdoor world, aka bass pro. It was for 17-19 foot boats, bought it. Stayed on the boat, in the sun, for 5 years and finally ripped in a bad windstorm after the 5 years. I don't know that you need to spend that kind of money on a boat cover. It was stored in the sun and heat of fort lauderdale florida. Also a very windy area. Hope that helps on your purchase decisions.

Not sure if this cover would work as a mooring cover, but I have considered ordering one for my 17 Montauk while it sits at the dock. I believe they make one for the 190 as well.

Has anyone ordered a cover from them?

Thanks.

Just got an e-mail from mills,$1200 for mooring cover. I think im going to try a westland cover, thanks for help. Cant see $1200 for a cover. Hoping a mooring cover will help keep water out of boat, and keep undesireables from being tempted at console equipment. It will be sitting in a wet slip 2.5 hours away. Good that there are park police headquarters near marina.

I have one it works great. Bought from same company. Fits better than a glove. I noticed that the company that's selling the cover used a picture from my my personal page in their Ebay ad.

Thanks msd58! Is that the cover in the last picture on your personal page? If so, it looks great! I may order today if that's the case.

Think it would work as a mooring cover? Or just for storage one the trailer and in the off season?

Thanks!

That's the cover. I have used it for both. It has a drawstring to cinch it tight. you may have to use a prop up rod to prevent ponding of water. But it is fitted.
